Akwuegbu Purchases De-Grace Nationwide League One Slot

Former Super Eagles forward, Ben ‘Austria Bomber’ Akwuegbu has rejoined the league of club owners after completing the official take over De-Grace FC, Abuja, a Nationwide Division One side.

Akwuegbu, who contested for the NFF Board membership slot in the concluded NFF Elective Congress in Benin, had previously floated Akwuegbu United, Owerri and Mbaise Lions.

The NLO side has now been officially renamed to Ben Akwuegbu United FC, Jos.

Documents sighted by Sportgister.com.ng indicates that organisers of the Nationwide Division One league have already given their consent to the deal.

Olushola Okunnowo, Chief Operating Officer of domestic third tier league confirmed the conclusion of documentation as regards the acquisition of NLO One slot previously held by De- Grace FC, Abuja, by Ben Akwuegbu United FC, Jos.Dated 7th November, 2022, with ref. no.NNWL/LGMT/03/111, Ogunnowo confirmed that indeed, Akwuegbu has completed all the processes for taking over of the NLO slot of De-Grace FC, Abuja.

Similarly, Seidu Tony Mustapha, General Manager of De- FC, equally confirmed that they have surrendered their NNWL One slot to Ben Akwuegbu FC.

The letter of transfer of ownership was dated 7/11/2022 .
