As part of Agenda to engender football developments in the Grassroot,the Organizers of the yearly Bamidele Omosehin football tournament have rolled out plans and programmes for the third edition.
According to information passed to Sportgister Nigeria by the local organizing chairman,Mr Bukunmi Akinnubi, he said the football tourney has been extended to the six local governments in Ondo South.
“Cup donor Mr Bamidele Omosehin has reiterated his commitment to empower the youth and support the next generation of football stars”.
“l can confirm to you that out of his magnanimity, he has extended the tournament to all the local governments in Ondo South unlike the previous two editions that covered only okitipupa and Irele local governments”.
“This is the man that uses his resources to put smiles on the faces of thousands of young players in the Ondo state and I pray for his good health and long life and prosperity” he said.
“The target of his programme, apart from discovering and nurturing football talents from the grassroots, is also to encourage youths acquire education and learn good values that will make them worthy ambassadors of the country in future.”
” Registration forms are free and interested clubs are urged to meet their respective FAs in order to be a participant”.
He said Further that Football clinic would be held in Methodist high school, Okitipupa on Friday 21st of October by 1pm while the tournament is expected to kickstart a week later.
Bamidele Omosehin football Tournament began in 2020 which has uncovered many talented footballers of whom are Ogunfeyinju and Ayo who are now plying their trades outside the shores of Nigeria.
Shaba FC of Irele are the defending Champions.
