Apparently in response to standard best professional best practices where clubs sign sizeable number of players for effective management and funding, Ben Akwuegbu FC have completed the signing of 28 players as the club get set to debut in Nigeria’s third-tier domestic league, Nationwide League One,Checks reveal that the club’s technical adviser, Sam Pam Jnr, painstakingly made the selection even as the club begin their Plateau State FA Cup campaign Wednesday, 22nd February with a tough fixture against Maichibi FC.
The match is billed for the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos, the Plateau State capital.As proof of their readiness for the 2023/24 domestic campaign, Ben Akwuegbu FC are understood to have taken delivery of three sets Jessie’s from Europe.
The jersies comprise an all red attire from the stable of Italian kits manufacturing firm, Uhisport which has been designated for their home games.
Others include all blue and all white kits, both products of Goalinn sportswear manufacturing company, Germany, for their away games.
The white Jersey, its gathered, serves as their alternative away colour.Manager Sam Pam Jnr has equally named Sinbad Adams as the official captain of the club.
Rotimi Adeniji, General Manager of Ben Akwuegbu FC, hinted that the club is aiming to use their debut season to seal their place in the NLO.
“Our objective is to try in our first season to keep our place in the league.“Then, next season, we take stock of our performance and move one step up.
“We’re pleased with the motivation and welfare available and we’ll only do our ultimate best to reciprocate with commensurate result”, he said.
Auwalu ‘Killer’ Adamu, a former Mighty Jets forward is the Team Manager of the club with Ishaya Pam as the Vice President of the club.
President of the club and former Super Eagles striker, Ben Akwuegbu, is understood to have laid down strong mark for the team to excel.
It was gathered that a club bus has been made available, comfortable camp site for the players is also in place while regular salaries and bonus for the players and officials has been made a top priority.
