CAFCC:Diables Noirs Whitewash Rivers United in Brazzaville

Nigeria champions Rivers United fell to a 3-0 defeat against Congolese side, Diables Noirs in their CAF Confederation Cup Group B encounter in Brazzaville on Sunday.

The hosts scored all three goals in the first 45 minutes of the encounter, as Rivers United conceded three goals within seven minutes.

Carla Wunda gave the hosts the lead in the 30th minute, and Jaures Ngombe doubled the advantage two minutes later.

The Congolese added the third goal 37th minute with Domi Massoumou scoring from the penalty spot.

However, the Stanley Eguma’s team missed the chance to reduce the deficit when Ebube Duru missed from the spot in the 57th minute.

Rivers United will face ASEC Mimosa of Ivory Coast in their next group game on Sunday, February 19 in Port Harcourt.

In another Group B game, ASEC Mimosa played out a goalless draw with DC Motema Pembe in Abidjan.
