Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been called up to the Cameroon national team for the September internationals.

This comes after the 27-year-old decided to quit international football during last winter’s World Cup in Qatar, leaving the competition after a disagreement with manager Rigobert Song, per Actu Foot Afrique.

While Onana has been called up to the Cameroon squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi, Stretty News understands nothing has changed since the goalkeeper retired from international football.

Therefore, Onana is not expected to leave United for the upcoming internationals or even the AFCON.

The bi-annual tournament takes place between January 13 and February 11, which means Onana would miss at least four games for United.

Cameroon reached the semi-finals in 2021.
