Confluence Queens who were held at home against Adamawa Queens in Match Day 11 in Lokoja, will lock horns with Abia Angels of Umuahia in Match Day 12 of the ongoing 2022-2023 NWFL Premiership on Wednesday, 5th April, 2023.
The Yahaya Bello Ladies will go all out against their host Abia Angels, following a disappointing goalless draw at home to Adamawa Queens last week.
Speaking to the Media after their workout this evening at Umuahia stadium, the Captain of the team, Hauwa Abdullahi who admitted that Abia Angels are not pushover but her side are equal to the task as they are ready to scoop all points in Umuahia.
” Abia Angels are a very good side but we are not here for a joke. We are battle ready for the three points that is at stake.”
However, Hauwa Abdullahi urged her teammates not to relent ahead of their return leg against Abia Angels, as the idea is to play a complete game and win on Wednesday”. She concluded
Coach Whyte Ogbonda have a fully-fit squad at his disposal and will likely field the best leg with first choice goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku making a return to the team
There is four points between the two teams, and that would even make the game more interesting. Confluence Queens are second on the log with 17 points, while Abia Angels are fifth on the log with 13 points.
A win for the Lokoja based side in this encounter will see them hold on to their super six(6) ambition.
Confluence Queens and Abia Angels are not new to each other. The last game between the two teams was played in Lokoja and it ended 1-1 as both teams shared spoil
