Nigeria eligible, Chuba Akpom was one of the goal scorers in Middleborough’s triumph over Norwich City in the English Championship League on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Akpom wrapped up the scoring with a simple finish in Middlesbrough’s 5-1 hammering of Norwich City FC in the EFL Championship.

Aaron Ramsey opened score for Boro at the Riverside in the 7th minute from Cameron Archer’s pass.

Hayden Hackney doubled the lead in the 41st minutes after sliding in a ball from Marcus Forss before Archer made it three two minutes later.

A minute later, Josh Sargent who have been the most active for Norwich up front got the better of his countryman, goalkeeper Zack Steffen to pull one back.

Archer made sure the three-goal lead was maintained before half time after capitalizing on a bleep from the back line of Norwich.

Akpom increased the lead just five minutes into the second half after Archer unselfishly passed the ball to him to tap into an empty net.

He was substituted in the 83rd minute for Matt Crooks as Boro went on to win 5-1 and go third on the championship log.
