Emalex FC will play in the playoff for the third place as the round robin series of the maiden BetKing Ondo State Residents Football Tournament enters the final day.
It was all going to be a nail-biting moment for Emalex, Ekimogun FC and Able God FC, going into the final day in Group A.
Ekimogun started off with an impressive 3-3 draw against finalists ASO Football Academy, needing for the last game to end in a draw.
However, Emalex had other ideas. The Owo side waited till the last 10 minutes to open scoring and consolidate with a 2-1 triumph over the hard fighting Able God.
The draw secured the runners-up spot for Emalex and guaranteed them a shot at the 3rd position on Sunday.
It is all to play for in Group B as OSOPADEC FC Igbokoda lock horns with NPFL All-Stars and Zion FC, Ondo trade tackles with Idanre United.
