Remo Stars midfielder Tochukwu Michael has expressed his reasons why he joined the Ikenne based-club club over other clubs that made offer to sign him this summer.
The impressive left footed centre midfielder made his debut for the Daniel Ogunmodede side during the just concluded Naija Super 8 tournament, where they finished as Runner up to Sporting Lagos in Lagos.
while speaking in an exclusive interview with Sportgister.com.ng, the former Plateau United man expressed that he joined Remo Stars because of the special love he have for the club, that was why he rejected other clubs offers.
” I have special love for the team,” said Tochukwu.
” No, I had offers from other clubs like Enyimba Int’l, Kwara United, Akwa United and Bendel Insurance. But I choose Remo Stars out of pure love rather than the money and also to represent the club.”
The midfielder, who joined Remo Stars this summer from fellow NPFL side plateau United, says that everyone at the club has welcomed and showed him love.
” I would say the have being so much love from my teammates and also the staffs in the club,” Tochukwu explained.
” The have all welcomed me well and which makes me to feel as if I have been at the club for long.”

The midfielder, who had a breakthrough campaign during the 2021/2022 NPFL season with Nasarawa United, where he finished as the highest scoring midfielder, expressed love for his old side Nasarawa United and believe that they will be back to the top-flight league soon.
” Nasarawa United is a good club, I must say nothing went wrong with the team last season about why they got relegated.”
” It’s just the game and I believe that they will be back in the NPFL next season.”
The midfielder, who was an unused substitute in the final of the Naija Super 8 tournament, were Remo Stars lost 4-2 on penalties to Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Says he feels disappointed not to have won the tournament with Remo Stars.
” I felt disappointed because it was the first ever Naija Super 8, I would have love to win it but it ended in the favour of our opponents.”
Tochukwu Michael will be hoping to maintain his fitness and to continue working hard as Remo Stars prepares for the 2023 ValueJet Cup, which will kickoff on August 4th, at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
