First half goals from David Onovo and Ibrahim Yusuf gave Sunshine Stars of Akure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Basira FC of Nasarawa.
David Onovo who scored the goal in the victory over Lobi Stars of MAKURDI on Sunday opened the scoring after a wonderful effort from Anchi Nnaemeka.
Ibrahim Yusuf doubled the advantage few minutes later from the spot.
Second stanza couldn’t produce any goal as Sunshine Stars held on.
In a related development, Ekiti United have been crashed out of this year’s Federation Cup after losing 4-2 on penalties of Standard FC of Kaduna.
