Nigeria first encounter with Brazil at the U-20 world cup was in Mexico 1983.
Having pipped Uruguay in the group opener, Flying Eagles faced Brazil in the second group game.
The trio GILMAR POPOCA,MARINHO RA and GEOVANI scored as Brazil Selecao recorded a 3-0 comprehensive victory over flying Eagles.
Flying Eagles drew Netherlands in the last group game and crashed out of the tournament.
Two years later,the duo met in USSR but it was in the Semi-final,Selecao won again as MULLER and BALALO were on target.
The next encounter was in China 1987 group opener, Brazil thrashed Flying Eagles by Four goals to nil.
Goals from ALCINDO,ANDRE CRUZ and WILLIAM gave Selecao another victory.
Flying Eagles went on to draw to Canada and lost to Italy in the last group game.
They didn’t meet until eighteen years in Holland 2005 in which points were shared as the encounter ended goaless.
Flying Eagles lost again to Korea Republic in the second group game and beat Switzerland 3-0 in the last group game.
Flying Eagles eventually finished as runner-up having lost Lion Messi-inspired Argentina in the final
In all, Flying Eagles have met Brazil four times in U-20 world cup,lost three and drew one.
They will meet again this evening in the last game of group D at the ongoing U-20 World cup in Argentina
