Super Falcons of Nigeria met debutant England in the last match of Group B at second edition of FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Sweden in 1995.
Super Falcons were thrashed 8-0 by eventual winners Norway and drew with Canada in the second match while England edged Canada and lost to Norway.
The encounter in Karlstad ended three goals to two in favour of the Lionesses.
Karen Farley got England off to a flying start in the tenth minute only for Okoroafor to equalise three minutes later.
Walker restored England’s lead (27′) and Farley scored again seven minutes before half-time.
Nwadike pulled one back with fifteen minutes left but England survived a tense finish.
The duo would meet again on Monday at the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
The match would be played at Brisbane Australia at exactly 8:30am Nigerian time.
