Real Madrid’s outgoing stars have had a great start with the rest of the team after their La Liga season comes to an end.
On Sunday night, Madrid ended their 22/23 campaign with a disappointing draw against Athletic Bilbao.
Outgoing striker Karim Benzema scored in his last appearance for Los Blancos after Oihan Sancet put Bilbao ahead in the 49th minute.
After the draw, Carlo Ancelotti’s men finished the season in second place with 78 points
In the final minutes of the game, Benzema, along with Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz, were applauded by his teammates. One by one, they were lifted into the air by the rest of the team in front of the crowd as their brilliant Madrid chapters came to an end.
Although the departures of Asensio, Mariano and Hazard were anticipated, the news of Benzema’s departure came as a shock.
