The national under-15 male football team on Wednesday defeated Galadima Academy of Abuja 3-0 in a friendly match.
The match was part of the team’s preparations for the Under 16 Dream Cup invitational tournament coming up next month in Japan.
In the friendly match played at the Goal Project football pitch in Abuja, the Future Eagles who have just been in camp three days ago, outclassed their opponents with a scintillating display.
The first half of the match started on a cautious note with both sides pressing for opportunities to find the back of the net but it was the Future Eagles that got better with two quick goals before the break.
Alex John put the Baby Eagles ahead in 37th minutes with a close range shot from outside the box, Edward Ochigbo increased the scoreline in the 42 minutes to complete the first half on a good note for the boys.
Coach Haruna Ilerika substitutions at the start of the second half, changed the complexion of the match as the Baby Eagles went all out with better coordination but without much success in front of goal.
Hamisu Salisu was clinical with his goal in the 50th minute to add to the tally as the Galadima academy boys went on rampage against the Future Eagles lads towards the end of the encounter.
