Manchester United edged Fulham 2-1 in the final Premier League match before the World Cup break thanks to a 93rd-minute winner from rising star Alejandro Garnacho, the 18-year-old scoring his first career Premier League goal.
Erik ten Hag’s side were missing several players today, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Diogo Dalot all unavailable. United were forced to name a bench that was one player short of the allotment.
Despite the absences, United opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Christian Eriksen tapped home after a nice team move.
Fulham equalised early in the second half thanks to a goal from supersub Daniel James, who had been on the pitch only a few minutes.
With both sides pressing for a late winner, it was the teenager Garnacho who struck, ensuring United head into the break on a high.
