Ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter has turned down the chance to return to football mere days after departing the Blues as he rejected advances from Premier League club Leicester who have also recently let go of their manager Brendan Rodgers.
Potter fired by Chelsea after dismal performance
Potter was put out of his misery by Chelsea on Sunday following the Blues’ abysmal recent form that saw them win only three of their last 11 games to sit in the bottom half of the Premier League
After Saturday’s loss against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea ran out of patience with the English manager and parted ways amicably just seven months into the ex-Brighton man’s tenure.
Potter rejects chance to return with Foxes
Despite Potter’s dismal Chelsea reign, the former Blues’ boss was handed an immediate return to Premier League football with Leicester City, but has reportedly rejected the opportunity as he prefers to wait until the end of the season before making a choice on where to pitch his tent next.
Leicester are in the market for a new gaffer after also letting their manager Brendan Rodgers go on the same day that Chelsea sacked Potter following a run of poor form that left them 19th in the Premier League table with a palpable chance of relegation.
The Foxes are desperate to remain in the Premier League and turned to the ex-Chelsea man for help with no luck as their precarious position on the table is likely to scare most managers away at this moment.
They will have to continue their search for a replacement for Rodgers, who could be on his way to Tottenham after leaving the Foxes just days ago himself
