Haaland pulls out of Norway squad with groin injury

The Norwegian will be out for a week after he picked up a groin injury in Manchester city’s 6-0 win against Burnley in the FA cup quarter-finals on Saturday. He was ready to participate in Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Spain but he withdraw from their camp to get back to full fitness ahead of the last weeks of the season.Norway has only qualified for an international tournament once and that came in the 2000 European championship and will look forward to cutting the 2024 European Championship. Haaland has been impressive for Manchester City scoring 42 goals in 37 matches but has failed to help his country get into any major tournament despite scoring 21 goals for Norway.Manager Stale Solbakken says his team remains confident and strong despite losing Haaland. He also added that: Erling took it hard when he realized that he could not fight for the team,” “Fortunately, there is still plenty of self-confidence, talent, and cohesion in this group to win points in the next matches. “We are not going to hang on one millimeter but continue our work to be maximally prepared for Saturday and Tuesday.”
