Ahead of the forthcoming Higher Institution Football League (HiFL) season, the Federal University of Lafia continue their build up with a resounding victory over JMAN football academy in Lafia.
After losing narrowly to Nasarawa State NYSC Sports CDs, the Fulafia team played out a stalemate with Kwandere United.
The game against Jman only meant one thing for the Fulafia boys as they raced into an early lead when sensational striker Muhammad Hassan reacted to Godwin Christian’s cut back to opening the scoring in the second minutes of the game.
Twelve minutes later, Muhammad Hassan turn provider when he picked the ball from a well crafted pass from Godwin Christian before setting up Abubakar Salim who expertly guided the ball home for the second goal of the game.
JMAN FA reduced the deficit when Sulieman scored for the spot after the referee spotted an infringement in the Fulafia danger area.
Muhammad Hassan proved to be a torn in the flesh of the home team with his dazzling runs as he races clear of his marker before crossing the ball to Abubakar Salim who was left with the simplest of task as he prod the ball home as the half ended in favor of the university boys.
On resumption of the second half, the Fulafia boys dominated play but profligacy was their major undoing as the trio of Ityo Solomon, Yau Henry and Silas missed glorious chances to increase the tally as JMAN FA got their second as Sulieman again poke home after beating the offside trap as the game ended in the favour of the Fulafia football team.
Reacting after the game, Coach Williams Auta revealed that he was satisfied with his boys performance as he believes they have all it takes to make a mark in future tournaments as a team.
“It was a good game, I love the fact that the boys were hungry for a win and they duly got it despite the difficulty of the game”.
