With a statement on their official website, Zambia Super League giants Zanaco FC have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Austine Chigozie Iheanacho.
Iheanacho joins the Bankers as a free agent, having been last associated with Ahli Khartoum SC of Sudan.
The former Shebab Nasri striker has inked a one-year deal that will keep him at Zanaco until 2023.The statement reads in part: “We are pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian striker Austine Chigozie Iheanacho.
“The Nigerian striker arrives to boost our attack following recent departures in that department. Iheanancho has spent most of his football career in Sudan, where he played for Ayl Arab, Shebab Nasri, Ahli Merowe, and Hilal Fasher.”Zanaco Football Club Chief Executive Officer Mr. Modest Hamalabbi expressed the club’s delight at welcoming Iheanacho to the seven-time Zambian Super League champions.
Mr. Hamalabbi said, “With the coming of Austine, given his experience and past glory in the Sudanese league, we believe he will add value to the club.”
