Arsenal Kiddies have emerged as champions of the maiden edition of the Kwara Kiddies YEG league cup championship after defeating Kwara Football Academy (KFA) on penalties.
Arsenal Kiddies, who were runners up in the league last season battled the defending champions from the blast of the whistle till the end.
Despite both teams having a series of chances to win the game in regulation time, the battle would eventually be sorted through penalties where Arsenal Kiddies won 4-2.
With the victory, Arsenal Kiddies have made history by becoming the first team to win the Kwara Kiddies League Cup Championship.
Both teams will return to action when the league proper begins on May 27 with KFA facing Future Stars in a stadium derby, while Arsenal Kiddies face newcomers, SGFC Athletics.
Speaking at the final match, the CEO of CYTECK Engineering and Technology Limited, the major sponsor of the league represented by Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa commended the organisers for the initiative.
Wopa who was recently elected as the Chairman of Ilorin West Local football Council described the tournament as a good platform and called on all the players to combine their football career with Education.
In his own remarks, the CEO of Valiant FC, Japhet Zubair who had sponsored all the Man of the Match awards throughout the league cup enjoined the kids to be disciplined and focused in their football pursuit.
