As the final of the 2022 Ilutitun Primary Schools football Competition comes up tomorrow,the gladiators L.A primary school and Amazing Grace nursery and primary school are unfamiliar foes.
L.A won the 2019 edition and were unable to defend it last year when they were knocked out by the eventual winner St Paul C&S.
They defeated St Augustine Primary School 2-0 in the first match of this year’s edition.
L.A edged Mega Methodist Primary School 4-2 on penalties after playing one all draw in the match duration to book the final ticket.
On flip side, Amazing Grace nursery and primary are one of the debutants at this year’s edition.
They beat Camp David nursery and primary 4-3 on penalties after enthralling 2-2 draw
In their second match,They also edged out progressive nursery and primary school on penalties to book Semi-finals ticket.
They beat Amazing Grace nursery and primary again on penalties after Playing 1-1 draw at the match duration.
Players to watch
Omobuwa Odunayo (L.A primary school)
Odunayo plays at the centre forward,he has so far scored a goal and made an assist.
His heroic display at the Semi-final gave L.A the final ticket.
Odunayo is pacy, Skilful and intelligent with the ball.
Olorunjuni Gbenga ( Amazing Grace nursery and primary school)
Unarguably the best player so far in the year’s tournament.
Gbenga’s versatility has taken Amazing Grace does far.
In the opening match against Camp David nursery and primary school, Gbenga scored a quick double within 4minutes of kickstarting.
His second goal of that match left everyone dumbfounded,It was from a 35-yard free kick.
When his team piles pressure, Gbenga leads other forwards and when it comes to absorbing pressure, Gbenga becomes a defender.
Tomorrow’s grand finale promises to be entertaining but likely to be a duel shows between Odunayo and Gbenga
