Rodriguez restored the host lead in the 45th minute and ensured a comfortable 2-1 lead going into halftime.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze put Villareal level again in the 50th minute before Rodriguez completed his brace in the 56th minute and gave Mallorca a 3-2 lead.
Muriqi made it 4-2 for Mallorca in the 63rd minute before Chukwueze was substituted in the 67th minute of the game.
The away side fought hard but Mallorca did enough to secure the maximum points.
