SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal that 20 players and no longer 25 will fly out from Abuja tonight for the U20 World Cup in Argentina.
AC Milan U19 midfielder Victor Eletu will therefore be the only player who will join the Flying Eagles squad in Argentina, as first reported by SCORENigeria
This also means that barring injury this will be the final 21-man squad for the World Cup even before the deadline of May 10 for the team to submit such to FIFA.
Eight of these players did not make the squad to the U20 AFCON in Egypt in March.
The initial plan was for 25 players to make the trip to South America and thereafter four players will fly back home before the rest of the squad head off to their base in Mendoza
The dropped players from the expanded squad are Mavlon FC goalkeeper Otoblo John Audu, Bendel Insurance left winger Vincent Augustine who until recently was with the Golden Eaglets; England-based forward Kingsley Awodi and El Kanemi Warriors striker Ba’akaka Aji.
