Super Falcons Star Rasheedat Ajibade was the match hero for Atletico de Madrid Femenino as she scored a brace to help them to a 2-1 win away at Real Sociedad.

Without a league goal since last October’s four goals haul against Sporting Huelva, the 23-year-old led the line for the visitors alongside Brazilian forward Da Silva.

The Nigerian however needed just six minutes to end her goal drought, starting and finishing the attack with the Falcons star volleying home from a Marta Cardona cutback to make it 1-0.

Their lead did last for just three minutes as the host equalized with Amaiur Sarriegi profiting from a slack defense to make it 1-1.

Atletico then came very close to finding their second just before the break but a free kick from distance could only hit the woodwork.

Two minutes into the second half, Atletico we’re back in front again and it was Ajibade with converting from a Hanna Lundkvist pass to make it 2-1.

The Nigerian came close to a hat-trick moments later but good thinking from goalkeeper Lete was enough to keep the game at 2-1 as Atletico extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 9 games.

Ajibade was the highest-rated player on the pitch with a rating of 8.9 as she took her league tally to 6 goals from 19 games
