The Former Chairman Kano state Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN and incumbent Vice President, North West Zone, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu has diclered his intention of contesting for the office of president of the association.
In a statement signed by the current chairman of the union in Kano Zahradeen Saleh and made available to journalist said Malikawa Garu made the declaration while paying the mandatory fee for contesting for the office of president.
The statement quoted Zahradeen Saleh as saying that they are confident that if elected to the said post, Garu will use his skills and professionalism in moving the association forward.
The statement reads “the former Chairman SWAN Kano chapter and incumbent Vice President, North West zone of our great association, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu has taken the patrotic step to seek to occupy the prestigious stool of the national president of our professional body”.
“Malikawa, today Friday 6th January 2023, made a noble move by paying the mandatory fee for contestants for the position of president”, said the statement.
According to him “we are confident in your leadership skills and professional engagements that are vital to sustaining the progressive spirit in our national fold”.
“Malikawa is bond in the placenta of progressivism March on like a stallion, that you are”, it said.“God bless SWAN, and guide our leaders right”, it added.
