Manchester United could face Barcelona, Juventus in Europa League Play-off

Manchester United be forced to play a team demoted from this year’s Champions League after finishing second in Group E.

Monday’s draw is set to pitch the Red Devils against the likes of Barcelona and Juventus with a tough array of teams entering the Europa League for a play-off round.

Thursday’s 1-0 win at Real Sociedad meant they missed out on a bye to the last-16 on goal difference.

Clubs from the same country cannot be drawn against each other at this stage, yet no English team will drop down into the Europa League at this stage.

Champions League third-placed teams: Ajax, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla, Sporting CP, Juventus, Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk.

When is the Europa League draw?The Europa League play-off round draw takes place on Monday November 7, 2022 at 12pm GMT from Nyon, Switzerland.

The first legs will take place on February 16 and the seconds legs are scheduled for a week later, on February 23.
