Former Nasarawa United midfielder Tochukwu Michael produced an impressive performance in his first start as Remo Stars played out a 1-1 draw with Katsina United, in a Matchday 2 Group A encounter on Sunday.
The game that took place at the Mobolaji Joseph Arena, Onikan saw the former plateau united showed an impressive display in the midfield.
Fabian Nworie gave the the Sky Blue Stars the lead, in the 22 minutes when he head home the opener, before Samson Olasupo scored with a close range volley to levelled it 1-1, in the 27 minutes as both sides went into the half time break with the game tied 1-1.
In the second half, both side tired to create some goals opportunities but it wasn’t enough to made the difference.
However, Tochukwu, who was making his second appearances for the club had one of the standout performer of the game. As he had more possession and touches of the ball than any other players in the game.
But for the Daniel Ogunmodede side, it could fit like a two points dropped but after picking four points in two games. Remo Stars just need a point in their final group stage game to make it through into the Quarter finals of the Naija Super 8 tournament.
While in the other Group A encounter played this evening, Enyimba Int’l failed to secured a victory against Newly promoted Lagos based club, Sporting Lagos as the game ended goalless.
The Finidi George side, who lost their opening group game against Remo Stars 2-1, last Friday. Had the opportunity to bounced back to winning ways but the Coach Emmanuel Ndubuisi side made it difficult and could’ve picked all three maximum points, but Enyimba Int’l goalie John Noble saved the spot kick And also was named the man of the match.
