Ahead of the commencement of the 2023 season of the Nation’s 3rd tier football league, otherwise called the Nation-Wide League One, the League’s Secretariat has fixed March 20 – 25, 2023 as dates for pre-qualification medicals, for all players registered by the eligible clubs.
A letter to this effect, signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the League, Olushola Ogunnowo noted that all clubs in NWL 1 and 2 clubs, who have paid the requisite registration fees, shall have their players evaluated medically, with a view to confirming their health and fitness status.
Consequently, the Secretariat of the League shall on Monday, March 13, 2023 release a schedule on how this year’s excercise shall be conducted.
To achieve their lofty goals, medical teams have been constituted and shall be deployed to the clubs, to ensure full adherence and help prevent the tragedy of players slumping on the field of play and some dying thereafter, due to undetected medical conditions.
