Nigerian players abroad over the weekend: Moffi, Ighalo, Olayinka, Orban on target


In France: Terem Moffi was on target and also provided an assist as OGC Nice were held to a 2-2 draw by Moses Simon’s Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire- Fonteneau on Sunday.

Moffi put Nice infront in the 5th minute of the encounter, but the hosts equalised through Moussa Sissoko in the 31st minute.

Nice regained the lead in the 71st minute with Moffi setting up Youssouf Ndayishimiye, but Nantes leveled again two minutes from time.

The 23-year-old has now scored 15 goals in 26 league appearances this season. His compatriot, Moses Simon was also in action for Nantes in the game.

Simon played for 65 minutes.In the French Ligue 2: Josh Maja provided an assist for Bordeaux as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Sochaux on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has recorded 12 goals with four assists in all competitions this season.In the Italian Serie A: Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen bagged an assist in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Atalanta in Saturday’s Serie A clash.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 21 appearance, has scored 19 goals with four assists this season.

Meanwhile, his compatriot, Ademola Lookman played a cameo role as he came on as substitute for Rafael Toloi in the 89th minute.

The 25-year-old has scored 14 goals with four assists in all competitions this season.

Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke both featured in US Cremonese’s 2-0 defeat at home to Fiorentina on Sunday. Dessers, who has only scored six goals in all competitions this season was replaced in the 60th minute, while Okereke came on in the 54th minute.

In Germany: Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma was in action from start to finish action for Hoffenheim in their 2-1 defeat away to Freiburg in Sunday’s Bundesliga game at the Europa-Park Stadion.

The Nigerian international was making his 20 appearance in the ongoing season and had a decent performance.

In Spain: Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze played the entire duration as Villarreal were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis in Sunday’s La Liga game.

The Nigerian international has recorded 10 goals with 10 assists in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine this season.

In Belgium: Gift Emmanuel Orban scored four goals, including a stunning free kick in KAA Gent’s 6-2 win over Zulte Waregem on Sunday.

The 20-year-old has now scored nine goals in eight games in all competitions this season.

In Czech Republic: Peter Olayinka was on target in Slavia Prague’s 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen on Saturday.

Olayinka leveled for his club in the 50th minute after Thomas Chory put the visitors infront in the first half.

The Nigeria international has now scored 15 goals with five assists in 25 games in all competitions this season.

His compatriot Igoh Ogbu was also in action for Slavia Prague from start to finish.

In Saudi Arabia: Odion Ighalo scored a brace as Al Hilal cruised to a 4-0 away victory at Al Taawon on Friday. Ighalo opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and doubled the lead in added minutes of the first half. The 33-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season.
