Nigeria’s FIFA Badge referee, Mimisen Iyorhe Calvin Onwuka has announced her retirement from refereeing after 13 years.
She made this known via her social media account saying;“
The beginning and the end.11 years of everything good, bad, and in between.Lord, your daughter is full of praises.
I am eternally grateful.Retirement is already bliss”The Benue state-born female referee made loads of history during her career.
1. She became the first Nigerian referee at a FIFA tournament in 19 years.
2. She was the assistant referee 1 at the 2022 Women African Cup of Nations Finals between South Africa and Morocco.
3. First Nigerian referee to officiate in an AFCON final.
