NLO Youth League: Akure Center Matchday One Summary

Akure center of the NLO Youth League has 10 registered teams but only six teams showed up for the showpiece.

Each team is expected to play five games while team with the highest points qualify for the promotion Play-off.

Choice FC 1-2 Agbana WFA.

The opening game at the was a Ekiti Derby between Choice FC and Agbana wonderful Football Academy.

Four minutes after kickoff, Choice FC went ahead after Ifedike Sunday poked home the opener.

Not deterred by early setback, Agbana WFA regrouped and restored parity six minutes later as Salako Blessing fired home the equalizer.

The teams could not be separated as first half ended in a stalemate.

As the second half resumed, Agbana WFA dominated possession as it was in the first half and effort paid off as Salako Blessing latched home the winner from a tight angle.

Wonderxchange FC 1-0 Saints FC.

The second match of the day saw two Akure-based sides squaring up against each.

It was a closed encounter as both teams defended vehemently.

The breakthrough eventually came in the first half as Opeyemi Michael beat his maker and fired home the only goal of the encounter.

All efforts by Saints FC to restore parity were proved abortive by resolute defense of Wonderxchange FC.

AbleGod FC 1-0 Kogi Pillars.

AbleGod FC of Ondo defeated Kogi Pillars FC of Kogi State by a lone goal.

AbleGod FC who had missed many chances earlier on went ahead as Friday Abuche tapped home the rebound.

Kogi Pillars regrouped and fought vehemently but couldn’t restored parity as the scoreline ended one goal to nil in favour of AbleGod FC.

Matchday Two.

Actions Continue today as Choice FC square up with Wonderxchange FC in the first match of the day while Saints FC will tackle Kogi Pillars.

The last match of the Matchday will be an encounter between AbleGod FC and Agbana WFA.
