Katsina United have secured their spot for the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after they defeated Kano pillars 1-0, in the Nigeria National League (NNL) super 8 playoffs.
Former Enyimba International forward Victor Mbaoma scored the only goal of the game from the spot kick to give the Usman Abdallah side the needed victory and also booked their NPFL ticket for next season.
Both Kano pillars and Katsina United have secured promotion from the Northern Conference, alongside Sporting Lagos who became the first team to picked their NPFL ticket after their 3-0 win over Abeokuta Stomers.
While Pillars in the other hand secured their spot in the NPFL for Next season after their Matchday 2 win against DMD FC.
In the other Northern Conference result, DMD FC thrashed EFCC FC 2-0 but it was not enough for the team as they felt short of the point tally set by both Pillars and Katsina United in the Northern Conference.
Both teams will be making a return to the Nigeria Top flight league after 365 days playing in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Katsina United will now continue on their preparation ahead of the Naija Super 8 tournament, which kickoff in Lagos this week.
