The Resident Pastor, Living Faith Church Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Pastor Olaife Solomon Olanrewaju has charged Ekiti United Football Club to strive towards securing a spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL at the end of the 2022-23 Nigeria National League, NNL season.
Pastor Olanrewaju said this when he hosted the officials and players of Ekiti United Football Club at the church auditorium on Sunday during the 9a.m service.
The clergy man charged the football club to put God first for them to be able to meet the yearnings of several football lovers in Ekiti State through promotion to the elite football league in the country.
He said nothing could be achieved without God, hence the need to always involve God and put Him first in order to reach desired destination at the right and appropriate time.
“As a football club, the Management and players must see God as number one or else the journey to the top will be fruitless.
“You must be dedicated and focus to get to the top and not be distracted with things that would not help your career, sighting example of Cristiano Ronaldo’s rise to the top of his footballing career.
“I enjoined the coaches and the players to work in synergy, so as to achieve the set goal of the season which is securing a spot in the NPFL,” said Pastor Olanrewaju.
Pastor Olanrewaju prayed and committed Ekiti United to the hand of God and promised his full support to the team.
“As a church, we are ready to support you spiritually, mentally, materially and financially.
“He eulogized the club welfare officer, Tolani Agbeni describing her as Margaret Thatcher who played a huge role between the club and the church towards actualizing the special program for the team.
Responding, the club secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe extolled the clergy man for identifying with the club as a spiritual father.”Daddy (Pastor Olanrewaju), I believe now is the appointed time that the Lord has made for us to honour this visit.’We can not thank you enough for the great support and spiritual blessings at this very period in the history of our club.
Sir, you are now a part of us at Ekiti United as our spiritual father and also officially inviting you to our first home game of the season against FC Ebiede on Sunday,
” Olowolafe maintained.
The Team Manager, Adedeji Adu who moderated the visit also thanked the clergy man for his unflinching support and prayers for the club.
“We can not express how we feel as we have been blessed by the word of God abd happy to commit the club unto God’s hand.
“As a club, we shall key into every advice you have given, for us to achieve the target at the end of the season.
In his closing remarks, the club scouting Manager, Olusola Babatola on behalf of the club thanked Pastor Olanrewaju for opening the doors of the church for the club both spiritually and materially.
