HypeBuzz FC have recorded their first-ever victory in the NNL on a day the refurbished Bwari Stadium staged its first-ever official match.
On Friday, HB outclassed fellow Abuja club EFCC FC 2-0 after a draw and a loss in their opening games in the NNL.
However, it was EFCC defender who made history at the Bwari Stadium when he scored the first goal, an own goal, at the arena.
The defender’s goal against his own team in the 34th minute was a result of the relentless pressure by the home team after they had fluffed several begging chances.
HB second goal on 68 minutes was sublime
Energetic striker Alade lifted a misguided defensive header over the giant EFCC goalkeeper that truly excited the appreciable crowd at the Bwari Stadium.
It was a little carnival at the top-standard arena with the fans treated to good football by both teams played under a very conducive atmosphere.
It was the first NNL match to be played at another Area Council outside of the Abuja Municipality (AMAC).
The home win has also lifted HB off the bottom of the standings as they head to ABS FC of Ilorin next week.
They climbed to third place in the five-team standings with five points from three matches, a point behind leaders ABS and Mighty Jets.
EFCC FC are bottom of the group with three points.
