The ongoing Chess and Scrabble Championship which is part of series of competitions put together by BeeCass Foundation ends tomorrow in Abuja, Nigeria with the Awards and Gala Night.
The BeeCass Foundation Sporting Fiesta started on Monday at Package B, Moshood Abiola, Stadium Abuja with four categories in the Scrabble Championship.
Negro Igbinadolor won the keenly contested Masters category and went home with 100,000 naira, Oyebola Alli, came second and David Yuwa completes the podium. Peter Ebomah and Daniel Achema narrowly missed a podium finished.
The Intermediate crown of the Scrabble event of the BeeCass competition went to Anthony Idorenyin who over powered the likes of old warhorse Eugene Okim and Prince Majemite to smile to the bank with 60,000 naira first prize.
Hauwa Abdullahi, Anthony Ekemini, David Akinrata, Abraham Otunubi and Adama Berachah were the top five kids in the junior event that had.a fairly good number of children in attendance. The Organizers provided prizes for the top eight kids in that category.
The veteran wordsmith were not left out in the scrabble jamming and grueling competition as Lanre Adigun and Tony Garba were rewarded as the best in that category while it was a family affair for the best female participants in the competition. Blessing Ola and Joy Ola ended the BeeCass Scrabble Championship in that order.
Over 600,000 naira prize money pool was shared among the four categories, Masters, Intermediate, Juniors and Veterans in the scrabble arm of BeeCass Foundation Sporting Fiesta which comes to a close on Saturday with the last round of Chess games before the Awards and Gala Night.
The BeeCass Scrabble and Chess Fiesta was laced with lots of exciting side attractions that include, comedy, music and other performing arts while finger licking refreshments was enjoyed by the participants.
Participants for the event came from Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
