NPFL : Former Golden Eaglets Coach John appoints Abia warriors Chairman

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has appointed former Golden Eaglets head coach John Obuh as the new board chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Abia warriors.

Obu who was the former Head coach of Akwa United and Director of FC Roma Academy in Abuja, was announced alongside other appointee by the government.

Obuh will be replacing Emeka Iyama who resigned as the board chairman of the Umuahia based club few months ago.

He handed Nigeria’s under-17 national team to win silver medals during the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted in Nigeria, and later became the National U- 20 team coach that played in the quarter finals of the World Cup in Colombia.

He had coached after leaving Kwara United, Rangers International and Akwa United.

Born on 21 March 1960, Obu played for Enyimba International, Abiola Babes, Calabar Rovers
and Udoji United.
