NPFLWK 16: Bendel Insurance FC fly to Gombe for Sunday cracker

Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin,this evening landed in Gombe state capital ahead of the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL) week16 match with Gombe Utd.

The Benin Arsenals flew into the Northeastern state capital aboard Airpeace Boeing 737-500 which torched down the Gombe Interested Airport at 5:02 PM.

The Airplane departed Lagos at about 2:27 PM and torched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for a brief transit enroute Gombe at about 3:20 Pm.

Insurance FC defeated ABS of Ilorin 1-0 in the 2023 Federation Cup round of 64 in Lagos on Wednesday afternoon and now shift their focus on the NPFL week 16 cracker.

The Benin Arsenals are primed to be the first team to secure super six place. A win at Gombe Utd is enough for them to fight for the league title and continental ticket.

Both teams settled for a goalless draw in their first round meeting at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin in the first round of the league. Gombe were the first team to pull a surprise draw in Benin in the hands of the Benin Arsenals who have taken the premier league by storm on their return from the lower league.

The group A leaders Bendel Insurance FC have remained invincible since the start of the current season and lead the group of champions with 31 points,five points clear of second placed Akwa Utd. They started their campaigns with unbelievable 2-0 away win against former champions Akwa Utd and beat another draw at Aba.
