NSF: Ondo State records first gold medal as team Delta leads in medals’ tables

The 21st National Sports Festival has entered day 7 and ‘Team Delta’, the Defending Champions are still holding sway to their title, Sportgister.com.ng reports.

Team Delta was still maintaining a decent lead on the medals table with a total of 275 gold medals out of which 140 are gold.Bayelsa and Edo state are leaving no stone unturned as both states push forward on the medal table.

Ogun and Oyo had been consistent with second and third position on the medal table from day 1 until day 5 only for Bayelsa and Edo States to turn around the table on day six and move to second and third on the log.

An impressive display in aquatic sports, wrestling and weightlifting have seen a turn around in the fortunes of perennial achievers at the national sports festival

Meanwhile,Ondo State has so far won 20 medals which include one gold,6silvers and 13bronzes.

The coast is getting clearer day by day as Bayelsa State is placed on 2nd position and Edo State is placed on 3rd position. Ogun State and Oyo State are presently 4th and 6th positions respectively.

Katsina State, Jigawa State, Ekiti State, Taraba State, Sokoto State, Cross River State and Borno State are yet to pick a gold medal in the ongoing National Sports Festival.
