NSSF World School Athletic Trials: Oyo Athletics Association Boss’ Daughter Shines

A daughter of the Chairman Oyo State Athletics Association Dr Isaac Friday Ogada was the cynosure of all eyes at the World School Athletics trials organised by the National School Sports Federation at the Moshood Abiola International stadium in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

In what shows that sports run through the family of athletics association boss, eleven year old Joy Chiamaka Isaac stole the show after winning her first heat with an electronic time of 14:61 seconds.

The time at which Joy finished her race was the best in the under 12 category of the athletics trials.

The kid track sensation is representing her father’s school, Brightville College Ibadan at the competition.Other representatives of the school who also excelled at the trials are Promise Egbe, Farouk Aremu, Kayode Fijabi and Taofikat Sulaiman In the Under 18 category, Promise Egbe ran a mind boggling and fastest time of 10:70 seconds to emerge the first while Farouk Aremu finished his race with the third fastest time of 11:09 seconds

Both Egbe and Aremu qualified for the exciting star-studded final of the event which holds today (Thursday).

Also Kayode Fijabi and Taofikat Sulaiman are both through to the final of Under 18 boys and girls 100m events.

Taofikat got through with ease while Kayode qualified as one of the fastest losers.Both runners will be participating in the 200m events coming up today.

Taofikat will also be competing in the final of girls’ long jump as the athletics trials continue today.
