The much awaited 2022 Odigbo day football competition that precedes the main celebrations kickstarted this evening at Odigbo township stadium in Odigbo.

Golden Noble of Odigbo tackled Amazing FA of Ajue in a keenly contested encounter.

Osekiyesi olawoyin capitalised on a blunder from Amazing FA’s goalie to put Golden Noble ahead.

Promise Omokunle restored parity for Amazing FA shortly after the second half was restarted.

Michael Aduragbemi terrific late goals gave Golden Noble comfortable opening victory over Amazing FA.

Earlier, The Orunja of Odigbo HRM Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade enjoined the footballers to put their best as some footballers would be scouted for European trip.

His words”this year’s tournament is unique in the sense that kabiyesi is now a first class king”
“Anything that would be given to you at the end of the tournament, accept it in that way,we will improve on it in the subsequent editions”

The FA chairman of Odigbo government Dimeji Abimbola appreciated the sponsor Hon (Chief) Lanre Moyero for giving back to the society.

He urged not to be deterred in his aspirations to uplift the downtroddens in the society.
