Hostilities resumed at the various stadia in Odigbo local government area of Ondo state at the ongoing Odigbo day football competition today.
At the Ore township stadium, Grassroot pipped Bitumen FC by one goal to nil.
It was a scrappy first half as both teams were unable to create a substantial chance.

First half eventually ended in a stalemate.
Upon the restart of the second, both teams improved on the lacklustre first half show as chances were created at both ends.
Grassroot had a chance to break the deadlock but it was wasted as one of Grassroot’s attackers blasted it over the bar.

The deadlock was eventually broken as Grassroot’s Jay Felix put a lovely cross across the goalpost which evaded the Goalkeeper and Akeem tapped-in the ball.
Grassroot defended vehemently as Bitumen FC couldn’t restore parity.

Elsewhere at Odigbo General field, Omifon United edged Odigbo Allstars by one goal to nil.
Actions continue tomorrow as two matches will be decided.
Omifon United will face Amazing FA while Bitumen FC will slug out with invincible FC.
I was at ore stadium live, the game was really a great game to watch. Both team were not so clinical in the first half but there was a turn around at the second half especially when grassroot scored the tension was high and bitumen fc try everything they could for to equalize but grassroot defense was solid as rock… It was a deserved winning for grassroot today they really dominated the game.
