FULL TEXT OF AN ACCEPTANCE SPEECH OF THE CHAIRMAN OF EKITI STATE (FOOTBALL) REFEREES COUNCIL,(EKSFRC) COMRADE OGUNTUASE ADESINAPREAMBLE —
-On behalf of the elected executives of Ekiti state football referees council, I give glory and adoration to almighty God for granting us the opportunity to witness today which marks the beginning of another journey in the history of Ekiti state football referees council in Ekiti state and indeed, Nigeria.
My sincere appreciation goes to our amiable governor of Ekiti state, H.E Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for providing enable environment for us to thrive.
I cannot but appreciate my indefatigable GM, Ekiti state sports council Mr kunle Adeyemi for accommodating our council and the hands of fellowship extended to us.
We will all witness many more of this by the grace of God. *APPEAL* — I want to appeal to all contestants who were not elected to see it as a game in which there must be a winner and a looser. A looser today may definitely be a winner tomorrow.
You will agree with me that EKSFRC is the only body saddled with the power and right to officiate EKSFA organized football competitions in Ekiti state
I will join my force with the forces of my Exco and members of the council to increase the numerical strength of referees council. We will promote unity among elders and active referees
We will work harmoniously with state football Association so as to make referees hobby a profitable one.Active roles to restore the integrity of EKSFRC in Ekiti state.
Good relationship with leadership of NRA / NFFWe will present a budget and accounting manually for smooth and transparent administration.Regular press conference to address typical issues as may be affecting members of referees council.
Henceforth, members’ attitude towards the council MUST change, because there would be massive recruitment into the referees council to boost our numerical strength.
We have to keep away from “anger” because it hurts! Let us embrace “patience” as patience with others brings “respect”.
Do not let us think hard about the past, it brings “tears” and “sorrow”.
The choice is ours either to become a victim or a victor. Beautiful things are not always good but good things are always beautiful.
The choice is ours to stay together as one big, responsible, responsive and financially respected family, let us decide to contribute our quotas to make the council enviable and great.
