It was fooball at the Ituk Mbang mini stadium on Sunday evening at the 2022 Ituk Mbang Unity Cup final when Adia United took to the pitch against cup favourites Ikot Ekpe United.
It was a ding dong affairs in the first half of the game as the half ended in a barren draw, though Ikot Ekpe created the most chances in the half only for striker Divine Ben Elisha to be denied by the woodwork and the goalkeeper on 3 occasions.
The 2nd half started all squared with both teams looking to carry the day. Adia United pushed forward with about 20 minutes remaining in the match and got a goal through Tunde Olagunjoye from a resulting corner kick.
With a lot of antics in play and Ikot Ekpe United using every trick in the play book to get an equalizer, up came defensive midfielder Stanley Eteyen with a thunderous strike brought low to the keepers far side to nail the coffin on the aspiration on Ikot Ekpe to lift this years giant gold cup.
Adia United carted home the star prize of 500,000 naira for their efforts
