Former Sunshine Queens coach, Tayo Onilude today defeated coach Kayode Adeyemi to emerge Chairman of Ondo State Coaches Association in the second ballot after both candidates tallied on 21 votes each from available 42 votes .
The result made Onilude the first elected Chairman of the association in the country.
The chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr Bayo Animasahun declared Tayo Onilude winner of the election with 23 votes while her opponent Kayode Adeyemi polled 19 votes in the election held at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.
Both candidates had earlier tallied on 21 -21 of the cast votes by 42 delegates in the coaches Association election conducted at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.
While Oladimeji Abimbola lost with one vote to Olumuyiwa Akintade who scored 22 votes against 21 to become the first vice Chairman of the association.
Sunshine Stars first assistant coach, Akin Olowokeere floored his opponent , Giwa Matthew 30 to 10 votes to emerge second vice Chairman.
Adekoye Abiodun also polled 25 votes against 16 votes scored by Bidemi Egbayelo to clinch financial secretary position.Meanwhile Coach Banjo Adepoju, Kehinde Musa, Ajayi Adegbemisoye , Okunnuwa Gbenga, Oseni Rafiu, Adeyosoye Alaba Emmanuel, Ajayi Ademisoye, Oseni Rafiu, Adurogboye Arinola emerged Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant, Secretary, Training Officer, Assistant Training Officer, Public Relation officer, Welfare officer of the association unopposed.
In her acceptance speech, the newly Inaugurated chairman thanked all the delegates and members of the association for their support.
She promised to uphold the unity of purpose in the association, saying she will make all inclusive and accountability , transparency her top priority.According to her, “I’m here to serve my people and I will work assiduously for the growth of the association.
“We are one in the association and we will remain one, election as come and gone, I will consult wide with the stakeholders in the association to ensure we bring everybody on same page
”The national of the association , Ladan Bosso while inaugurating the newly elected executives ,congratulated the state coaches association for the itch free election.
Bosso represented by his General Secretary, Coach Abdullahi Mansur urged all the stakeholders to work with the new executives for the progress of the association.
Bosso urged the newly Inaugurated executives to ensure they bring every member of the association on same pages, saying they should reach out to other contestants for the progress of the association.
