Ondo state football association has concluded plans to revive the once popular Governor’s cup in the state.
According to the statement released by the FA Secretary Mr Adetoyinbo lbukun,The Governor’s cup would be held between October 25th and November 24th,2022.
The Statement reads”
His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has graciously approved the resuscitation and commencement of 2022 Governor’s cup across the 18 local government of Ondo State after many years of abandonment.
The competition will commence on Monday 25th October to Thursday 24th November,2022.
This is part of the dreams of the current board of the Ondo State Football Association, under the able leadership of Otunba Dele Ajayi,as part of efforts to engender development of the game at the grassroots level.
Modalities for the competition will be communicated in due course.
