Over 500 athletes currently participating at the ongoing Zaria Athletics Grand Prix which kicked off on Tuesday at the Ahmadu Bello University Sports Complex, Zaria,Kaduna state.

Sunday Adeleye told news men that 2 day event is geared towards professionalism and competition among athletes which in turn build their confidence;as he regrets the lack of competition in track and field events.
“This event is geared towards bringing professionalism to our athletes who have been training without competitions, as this Grand Prix will give them the opportunity to test their fitness level.
Also, this event is meant to prepare Nigeria athletes for the All African games, Olympics and other major events.
“Hon.Adeleye stated. Speaking further, Hon.Adeleye thanked the host, Ahmadu Bello University ,Hon.Ibrahim Shehu Gusau, Hon.Shehu Usman and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
