Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Fayha have announced the signing of Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru from Turkish club Adana Demirspor.
Onyekuru becomes the club’s third marquee signing after Ranger’s Fashion Sakala and Bosnian midfielder Gojko Cimirot, who joined from Belgian club Standard de Liège.
The 26-year-old joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a two-year deal with an option of a further year, keeping him in Saudi Arabia until at least the summer of 2025.
Moving to Europe in 2015 through Belgian club KAS Eupen, Onyekuru was set to join Arsenal in 2017 after the Gunners agreed on a fee with his club, but then he opted to join Everton instead.
Onyekuru didn’t make a single appearance for Everton and ended up moving between clubs, playing for Anderlecht, Galatasaray, AS Monaco, Olympiacos, and Adana Demirspor.
He spent last season on loan from Olympiacos at Adana Demirspor before the latter bought him €3.50 million to sell him a month later to Al-Fayha
