SGFC Athletics Sports Club will look to navigate their way to the final when they take on Police FC in the semifinal of the ongoing Wali of Ilorin Cup.
The first semifinal match will take place at the KFA pitch inside the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 by 10am.
SGFC Athletics will look to maintain their unbeaten run when they file out against the men on black who are also unbeaten in the competition.
The high scoring SGFC knocked out Nationwide FC 4-1 in the quarterfinals thanks to goals from Adebowale Awolola, Ogani Michael, Saka Rahman and Jamiu Habib, while Police FC edged out Barrier FC 1-0 to book a semifinal spot.
SGFC Athletics are the highest scoring side in the competition having netted nine times conceding two, while Police have only scored two goals in the competition and are so far yet to concede.
Police FC have proven to be a solid side defensively while SGFC Athletics have also proven be an attacking side that can break any defense.
The Eagles will be going all out for a win as they set sight on lifting the Wali Cup trophy.Coach Mashood Yakub believes his side are prepared for the challenge and would go all out for the victory.”
