Sunshine Queens’ Lucky Andy has emerged the best Goalkeeper in the just concluded Nigeria Women Football League Championship held at Ikenne, Ogun State.
The Akure based Goalkeeper won the best goalkeeper award having conceeded the least goals in the championship after five matches.
Twelve teams divided into two groups had participated in the 2023 Nigeria women Football League NWFL Championship with Sunshine Queens FC coming second with goal difference after they were tied on same points with the group B leader, Lakeside Queens of Ikenne.
In a chat with Sunshine Queens media, Lucky Andy said she wouldn’t have achieved the feat if not for team work.
She thanked her team mates for the cohesion in the team, saying they shielded her from dangers several times during the competition.
She said: “I commend my coaches for their efforts at making me a better Goalkeeper. I played according to their instructions and it yielded a good result for me and the team”.
As 2023/24 league season draw nearer, she promised a better outing in the new season, saying she wish to plying her trade in Europe in the nearest future.
