OGC Nice’s forward, Terem Moffi, has made it to the final shortlist for the prestigious African Best Player in Ligue 1 award and has a chance to become only the third Nigerian to win the award.

Initially selected among nine candidates, the 23-year-old now finds himself in the top three contenders for the award. The other nominees are Sekou Fofana from Cote d’Ivoire and Chancel Mbemba from Congo Democratic Republic.

Moffi’s impressive performance this season includes 17 goals scored in 31 league appearances.

A win for Moffi would make him the third Nigerian player to secure this honor, following in the footsteps of Osimhen and Vincent Enyeama, both of whom had outstanding seasons with Lille.

The winner of this year’s African Best Player in Ligue 1 award will be announced on May 30.
